Columbus Museum of Art Decorator’s Show House
2003 Featured Home: 1087 Lincoln Road, Grandview Heights, Ohio
The Women's Board of the Columbus Museum of Art sponsors a biennial event, the Decorator's Show House, that raises funds to support the Columbus Museum of Art. The signature event, in cooperation with the American Society of Interior Designers, has been a central Ohio tradition for many years. Interior and landscape designers completely transform grand homes displaying the latest trends and techniques in home design. Rooms in the chosen home are selected by local designers by a lottery, and the designer takes his or her pick of the room to transform. (excerpted from a original posting on the CMA website)
In 2003, the Lindenberg/Voelker house at 1087 Lincoln Road was chosen by the CMA Women's Board as the featured home. In 2002 it was also featured on the HGTV Program, “If Walls Could Talk”. During the Show House open house period, nearly 20,000 people toured the “Hacienda”, as it is labeled on the original blueprints. Below are photographs taken during the spectacular event, showcasing not only the excellent design work, but the characteristics of the architectural masterpiece. The home, originally owned by Theodore Lindenberg was designed by prolific Columbus architect Frank Packard.
